About Dr. Jeffery Alex James Johnson

Who Am I?

The Rt. Rev. Jeffery Alex James Johnson, Ph.D., is seen and acknowledged as a voice for this generation. He has an amazing ability to minister effectively to all age groups. His dynamic preaching, teaching, and leadership style is coupled with an intellectual and spiritual approach to real life accompanied by a down to earth sense of humor. His footprints into ministry started in 1994 and his pastoral ministry began 2001. A boy preacher, Johnson knew at the age of 5 that the Lord anointed him to change the world!

Over the years God has allowed Bishop Jeffery Johnson to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to hundreds of thousands of people. His ministry has led him to minister throughout the United States of America as well as to other countries. In his pursuit of excellence in ministry, Dr. Johnson is a degreed professional who understands the necessity and the non-negotiable for sharing the Word of God with clarity, conviction, and common sense. He’s a recipient of numerous awards and honors.  

 

Bishop Johnson is a husband, father, pastor, administrator, author, educator, leader, social activist, naval officer, and gifted communicator. He serves as the pastor and founder of Connections Community Church which is one church in two cities: Lake Wales and Tampa, Florida.  He currently serves as one of the founding Executive Council Members of the Kingdom International Consortium under the apostolic leadership of the Most Reverend Eric D. Garnes. Bishop Johnson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in September 2022. He is the Diocesan Bishop of the state of Florida as well as Bishop Pro-Team of the West Coast for the Kingdom International Consortium. His love for pastors is evident to all in whom he approaches. He is a Lieutenant Junior Grade serving in the United States Navy as a Chaplain.

Beyond each field of endeavor in Jeffery’s life he is married to Teasia and have a beautiful blended family of three boys who are 15, 12, and 10. Each of them are honor scholars enrolled in Hillsborough County Public Schools.  He’s a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

Social Pursuit 

In 2020 Dr. Johnson ran for Hillsborough County School. While he lost the race an incredible community synergy was built from his campaign. Only being in the race for two months he was successful to achieve 20% of the vote in a four-way contender race. Professionally, Dr. Jeffery Johnson is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the CDC of Tampa. In this role he provides executive leadership to help manage a twenty million partnership between Fifth Third Bank and the CDC of Tampa that supports Affordable Housing, Business Development, and Workforce Initiatives. He’s an elected community member of the East Tampa CRA. The East Tampa CRA is the largest in the state of Florida. He’s most proud to be the founder of the You Deserve To Be Loved Girls Summit. The Girls Summit is a yearly event geared to empower middle school and high school girls. Each year the summit reaches thousands of girls and is a district-wide field trip in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.

In June 2023, Dr. Johnson was bestowed the Presential Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joseph R. Biden for his commitment to community service.

Scholastic Pursuit

Through his academic pursuits Dr. Johnson has earned a; Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministry, Master of Theology, Master of Ministry, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Thought. He’s studied at Warner University, Anderson University, St. Thomas Theological Seminary. Dr. Johnson is a previous collegiate administrator, author, life coach, leadership consultant and global ambassador for the Bey Good Foundation for Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. Dr. Johnson is the founder and principal partner of the JAJJ Executive Coaching Firm. JAJJ Executive Coaching Firm is a consulting group that seeks to assist churches and small businesses to reach their targeted audiences.
